What is an addon domain?

An addon domain is used when you wish to add a completely different website to your hosting cPanel account. For example, you might have two different websites and want to add them both under your primary cPanel account.

If example1.com is your primary domain name and you also wish to add example2.com, you would do this as an addon domain.

Content and files for a separate website are stored in a unique folder within your File Manager on cPanel.

Addon domains are added in the Domains section on cPanel by selecting the Addon Domain option and entering the domain name you wish to add.

Please note, an addon domain must be pointed to your server before it can be added to your cPanel account. If it is not pointing to the server then you will receive an error message.
